Ranjani's Barefoot Story

"There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate's loot on Treasure Island." Said Walt Disney.

How true it is !!

I have always been a bookworm when I was young, always bugged my parents to get all the books accessible in stores. I would rather live in library if they allow me to. Lol, but where am I now? A full time software job, busy mom and little to no time to rest. Filled with stress. Realizing that the kids today are more into video games and television and YouTube and tablets and what not!! The kids have soo many options now, and how many kids prefer books over video games? Kids these days, including mine can rather spend hours infront of YouTube videos/TV rather than good books.

Got to do something!! Technology is good. Being in software industry, I am always going to support technology, but what is the impact of technology on kids?

Okay, anyway I'm stressed with my job, need to focus on something which is passionate and helpful. What else can help other than promoting literacy and share the love for books with young readers. I realized this when I met a community seller in the Christmas market. And the books which are about Around the world , promoting diversity and inclusion... As an immigrant myself, I know how much important it is for kids to learn about these . The illustrations, the easy readable languages, the concept of each books are unique. Who wouldn't fall in love with barefoot books...

Here I am, a barefoot community Bookseller newbie doing this as parttime. Looking forward to increase my footprints in "sharing literacy and education" to younger generations.
