I was an elementary educator for more than 32 years; a classroom teacher, a special education teacher as well as an administrator. It was in those first few years that I realized the enchantment I could hold with a book in my hands. As I read each day to a captive audience, not only was I teaching them to read the words, but also connect with the characters and extend their world. I have alway been a strong believer in the intentional teaching of good character and a global perspective. Barefoot Books holds each of those traits. I am excited to be a Barefoot Ambassador, ensuring a love of reading in generations to come.
