Kevin Kersey, Community Bookseller

My name is Kevin Kersey and I was a professional educator within the public school system for twelve years. I have taught at all grade levels, including kindergarten, third grade, fourth grade, sixth grade language arts, middle school agriculture courses, and high school intensive reading courses. I have also been a media specialist / librarian at a high school.

My Barefoot Story began when the curriculum prescribed by the state and district did not meet the needs of my students. I searched everywhere online and through various bookstores for children's books that my students could connect to and would enjoy reading. Through Barefoot Books, I was not only able to find books and items that my students could relate too, but other teachers found joy in Barefoot Books too! 

Barefoot Books has something for every child, regardless of age. I utilized Barefoot Books as an instructional tool in every intensive reading course taught at the high school level.
