Working collaboratively with our small, passionate and energetic global team, this position is responsible for creating awareness of the Barefoot Books mission and products internationally, for executing high-impact creative ideas designed to generate strong positive press coverage and presence within key social media outlets, for developing and converting leads for our long-tail sales channels, and for creating and nurturing engagement with our brand and products.
Based in our Cambridge office and reporting to the Design Director, the Design & Production Assistant will work closely with the marketing, production, editorial, and sales teams, assisting all aspects of graphic design and production for the company’s business channels. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position.
In response to the lack of diverse voices in the publishing industry, Barefoot Books offers a Diversity in Publishing Editorial Internship. This internship is open to anyone who identifies as a person of color, including those of African/African American, Asian/Pacific Islander, Latin American, Middle Eastern, or Native American/Indigenous descent. Diversity in Publishing Editorial Internship description
Are you passionate about children’s books? Then come intern with us! Barefoot Books’ Product Team is looking for a driven, detail-oriented, enthusiastic individual with excellent copywriting skills and an interest in every aspect of the children’s book business. Reporting to the Product Marketing Manager and collaborating with the product, marketing, sales and operations teams, the Product Marketing Intern will get a rare first-hand look inside children’s book publishing from a wide range of perspectives, while building valuable product / b2b marketing and publicity skills and helping put good books in kids’ hands! This is a part-time, unpaid position that will run from mid-May through mid-August 2019 (Start and end dates are flexible.) Students and recent graduates will be considered. Product Marketing Internship description
Barefoot Books’ Design Team is looking for enthusiastic, hard-working, detail-oriented individuals with great organization skills, a strong design eye, and a fun personality. Reporting to the Design Director and collaborating with the product, marketing, and sales teams, the Design Intern will gain experience in marketing design and editorial design, while being exposed to art direction and how design plays a role in children's publishing. Design Internship description
Barefoot Books’ Marketing Team is looking for a Social Media Intern to help maintain and grow its social media channels, particularly Instagram. Reporting to the Digital Producer, the Social Media Intern will ideally be well-versed in all relevant social media. Attention to detail, multi-tasking abilities, a love of storytelling, and excellent writing skills are a must. Basic video editing and Photoshop experience a plus.
