About Me
I first stumbled upon Barefoot Books while attending the Arizona La Leche League Conference in August 2008. My friend was gushing about a book she'd just purchased in the Expo Hall and I was immediately intrigued. I made a beeline for the booth and it was love at first sight--in fact, I was late to my session from lingering (and buying!). I was so taken with these products that I made the Barefoot website my first stop on the computer that night, but the true test came when I presented my 2-year-old son, Peyton, with Come Here, Cleo! and the Animal ABCs Ring Flash Cards--he LOVED them!Anyone who knows me well knows that I have big love for art and story, and Barefoot Books is a beautiful marriage of the two. I was fortunate enough to have a family where reading was an important part of my everyday life for as far back as I can remember; I was completely enchanted by all of the places stories could take me. My husband, Bruce, shares this passion and began reading to Peyton before he was even born. Our sweet kindergartener is now 5.5 years old, loves his books, has an active imagination, and is telling us his stories!
I feel so fortunate to have found a company that I respect, and to be building a home-based business that allows me spend a tremendous amount of time with my son. I am have done open houses, home parties, community events, fundraisers and I love to share my books with other parents and children!
