I am the mother of two, a lover of books, and an enthusiastic supporter of children's art and creativity. I also write about children's art, seasonal crafts, and family fun on my blog The Artful Parent.

I first fell in love with Barefoot Books about ten years ago when I lived in Boston and visited their store there with a friend. I didn't even have children yet, but it was a magical experience! Ten years and two kids later, the books, stories, and artwork remain magical to me and my family. There is nothing like a good story, told well and beautifully illustrated, to transport you to other worlds, whether real or imagined.
