About Me

As a mother, a woman and a person, my greatest passion lies in connecting people to the everyday ways that we can be more environmentally responsible and live simpler, more fulfilling lives.  With my own children, I am always seeking out new ways to enrich their playtime, nurture their minds and bodies and make them conscious of their place in the greater world.
After ten years working inside our home, I was ready for some new challenges, but could not take on something that would be too disruptive to our lives. Barefoot Books has been a perfect fit. I am learning about our products through our everyday routines and we have had a chance to try new and exciting things like yoga with three year olds!
Barefoot has also allowed me to tap into my creative side which, I must admit, had gotten a bit rusty over the last few years. I am now getting out into the community more and connecting with both adults and children in amazing new ways. I am sharing my passion for the environment by hosting a booth at a local Farmers Market where I not only sell Barefoot products, but also have crafts for kids out of recycled items and am available to do some Story Time while parents shop.
These are a few of my favorite Barefoot "things":
* The wide variety of sing along and read along CD's. These are awesome for pre-readers. I often put them on while I am preparing meals and even while we are eating.
* Art work that you can see capturing imaginations and inspiring creativity. While reading "Lin Yi's Lantern" recently, my 5 year old daughter said "I love this art. It is the best book I ever read." The art and story in Barefoot Books are truly magical.
* Their commitment to providing wonderful stories to nurture future generations into becoming stewards of the earth. From the exquisite poems in "The Sun In Me" to simple explorations of nature in "Elusive Moose" there are endless ways to foster a love of our planet.
There are so many ways to make Barefoot Books an enriching, exciting and profitable part of life. I look to the New Year with great anticipation and enthusiasm for the challenges it will bring! And with that, I am off to let my chickens out :) Seriously.
