About Me
I discovered Barefoot Books not long after having my son, Oscar in 2006. This first book was The Secret Seahorse by Stella Blackstone and Clare Beaton. The sumptuous artwork and engaging lyricism were an instant hit and is still a favourite over two years later. I love the way the illustrations are representative of real sea-life with further information at the back of the book detailing all the creatures featured. It also meant our visits to the local aquarium resulted in lots of excitement as he recognised and named anemones and jellyfish.Further encounters with Barefoot Books I came to appreciate not only the beautiful illustrations and fantastic storytelling but also the celebration of our world and rich diversity of cultures we live in. Not only that, I was happy to find Barefoot takes environmental issues seriously and is a green publisher.
Since then I would always seek out Barefoot titles to give as gifts, so when I realised I could become an Ambassador working flexibly while enjoying being a full-time mum, I didn't hesitate to join up!
Oscar has always loved books. He really drinks in both the words and the pictures and so when we want to snuggle up and read a book, it is to our collection of Barefoot books that he heads to first.
So, here I am, slowly starting out. If you are in South London and interested in hosting an event at your place, having a fundraiser, or a stall at your event, please do get in touch. In return you will be entitled to free books, CDs and gifts of your choice from between 10-20% of sales made.
There is also the opportunity for you to become an Ambassador and join the Barefoot team. Contact me for more details.
Thanks for your support
Natalie
