About Me

Who am 1?  Well I'm a mum of 3 in a busy hectic household, and a committed Barefoot Ambassador for the last six years, and both roles seem to intermingle all the time which is just how I like it to be!

I love selling Barefoot, and my aim is to get our beautiful art and story into as many children's hands as possible.  Every child deserves books like these to enrich their lives, develop their imagination and teach them about different cultures.  Our books educate as they entertain, encouraging acceptance and diversity, but above all, they are fun for all the family!
Starting my own business was not something I necessarily intended to do, but when I found Barefoot Books it seemed an obvious next step.  I was amazed that neither myself nor my friends had come across them before!  Over the years I've sold Barefoot in so many different ways, at home parties and fundraising sales, toddler groups, school book fairs, large-scale events such as Spirit of Christmas - Olympia 2007.  I have attended countless Charity Fairs raising funds for the NSPCC, East Sussex Hospices, Mencap and the Down Syndrome Association, as well as African charities and school PTAs.  More recently I have attended educational workshops and conferences run by LEAs or educational set ups such as the Centre for Literacy in Primary Education etc.  


One of the amazing benefits of being a Barefoot Ambassador is the new friends I've made amongst  other ambassadors and customers alike, and used many of the skills I'd forgotten I posessed after 11 years as a stay-at-home Mum!  I'm also learning fantastic new business skills every day.  Over the years I have been lucky enough to meet Nancy and Tessa (co-founders) on many occasions, and have won Barefoot trips to Boston and to Nancy's beautiful house in southern France where a group of us talked, danced and swam Barefoot for the last four years!
