About Me
HI my name is Connie Gildersleeve.My business, Connie Lea Creative, is a huge umbrella for the many things I do, sell and create!
I have a beautiful blended family of SEVEN! I was a single mom for 10 years with my oldest Son, Heath. When I re-married in 1999 I proudly gained my husband Phil, three step-children; Steve, Christa & Jenna and eight years ago gave birth to our Son, Sean.
My professional career began with working in the Optometry field for 18 years as a Technician, Marketing Director and Clinic Manager. After marrying an Optometrist, I decided to try out some of the other things I dreamt of doing with my life.
Before joining the Barefoot Books community, I owned a photography studio which was a great adventure for my creative side.
While writing a series of children’s books, I discovered Barefoot Books during my research of children’s book publishers. Immediately, I ordered a Barefoot Books catalog. Next I found myself ordering Barefoot Books for my son Sean. I was so impressed with Barefoot Books’ products and the company’s philosophies that I joined the Stallholder Program (now Ambassador Program) and found myself flying off to Boston for a Barefoot Books International Conference!
I truly am a Barefoot kind of gal. So I love the flexibility that comes along with being a Barefoot Ambassador. I enjoy offering these beautiful books & products in my small town, rural setting, but believe me there are NO BOUNDARIES! I have traveled all over the state of Nebraska offering Barefoot Books at many types of events. I also have my “barefeet wet” in Iowa, Kansas, South Dakota and Colorado as well!
