I began promoting Barefoot Books in 2005 because I wanted to share an undiscovered treasure with others. I believe strongly that there are few things more important than sharing the joy of reading with a child. Children who grow up with a love of books and storytelling are more engaged in the world, do better in school, and forge stronger bonds with the people around them.
I work full time outside the home and also have a licensed business in Arizona under the registered trade name Barefoot Books Tucson. I have a M.A. in archaeology and a graduate certificate in museum studies. My two children are my "test audience" for all Barefoot Books. I find that you cannot truly evaluate a children's book without reading it aloud.
I am an Ambassador Leader and work with a group of Barefoot Books Ambassadors across the country. I offer help on an as-needed basis. It is very important to me that my team members conduct busines professionally and ethically, and I encourage setting realistic goals for long-term success. Most of my experience in promoting Barefoot Books has been with school book fairs (Preschool through Grade 6), educator conferences, and community events. I maintain a Team Website where I provide files, photos, ideas, and tips for promoting Barefoot Books and running a business. Conducting research and summarizing information come naturally to me, and I like knowing that others can benefit from my experience. Barefoot Books is important to my family, and I'm honored to be helping such a wonderful and unique company.
I believe that children's books should be affordable and readily available to all families and educators. If you have any questions, please contact me.
