I Wish I Were a Pilot

Bought it on a whim, still a favorite
Feb-13-2010

I bought the book because it looked amusing and I had a little left in my budget for Christmas presents. The simple rhythmic story and colorful illustrations immediately captured my son's attention. He received it when he was 15 months old and he still requests it for bedtime. This book gives you a quick look at several exciting professions and methods of transportation such as Pilot, Train Engineer, Race Car Driver, Astronaut, Cowboy, etc.

We All Go Traveling By

The book that started our love of Barefoot
Feb-13-2010

This was the first Barefoot book we bought. It was for our son's Christmas present when he was 15 months old. Not only did it become an instant favorite, but we're stilling reading it regularly a year later! Not only do you learn about the different forms of transportation, but each vehicle has it's own color. I love how you start with the school bus and at the end of the story you realize you were seeing all the vehicles from the school bus on the way to school!

Zoe and her Zebra

Big and Little Letters
Oct-22-2009

I realized my 2 year old recognized all his upper case letters but he never saw the lower case letters in the alphabet books we already owned. This one shows both. I also love the fact that the upper case letter relates to the name of the person and the lower case to the animal. Oh, and the best part is the list of animals at the back, otherwise I'd never have guessed the Umbrella Bird or the Xoona Moth.
