Early Learning Fund
Aug-25-2010 - May-31-2011Roaring Fork Valley Early Learning Fund supports quality educational, outreach, mentoring and collaborative programs that focus on early childhood development and family involvement. Our signature early childhood program, Raising A Reader, provides an opportunity for families with children ages birth to five years old to build early literacy skills critical for their children’s kindergarten readiness, school success and life success. Reach Out and Read
Nov-15-2011Reach Out and Read® trains doctors and nurses to advise parents about the importance of reading aloud and to give books to children at pediatric checkups from 6 months to 5 years of age, with a special focus on children growing up in poverty. By building on the unique relationship between parents and medical providers, Reach Out and Read helps families and communities encourage early literacy skills so children enter school prepared for success in reading.
