There's a Cow in the Cabbage Patch
I still know it off by heart...
04 Oct 2009When my daughter was first enjoying board books this was one of her absolute favourites, so much so that I can still recite it off by heart a couple of years later :) This is a lovely book for getting little ones to join in with the animal noises and the rhyme and repetition means they soon learn what's coming next and can have a go themselves at "reading"! The spread at the back showing where all the animals live is fun to share and ask questions about. A book that will be remembered with fondness by both child and parents alike.
The Story Tree
The Barefoot Storyteller loves The Story Tree
30 Jun 2009This is not only my daughter's firm favourite (she's 3 year's old) but, as a professional storyteller, mine too. I have used every story in this book for oral storytelling sessions in pre-schools, schools, theatres, libraries, birthday parties... Hugh Lupton is one of the UK's greatest oral storyteller's a true master of the art of storytelling. As a result, the stories in this book just beg to be shared aloud with an audience. Children love being the monkeys in "Monkey See, Monkey Do" or helping to tell the Magic Porridge Pot to "boil, pot boil"! A winner in so many ways and an absolutely perfect gift.
Zoe and Her Zebra
The book that started my Barefoot life!
30 Jun 2009I picked this book up for my daughter (Zoe) when she was just 9 months old - simply because of the title. I got it home and was immediately drawn in by the illustrations and the diversity of the children's names and animals. But I knew I had a fallen head over heels in love with Barefoot when my husband and I were completely flummoxed by X for Xoona Moth. I really don't think you would see this other than anywhere else but in a Barefoot Book. My daughter is now 3 and loves this book and all those crazy animals chasing the children. It is a wonderful way to learn your ABCs. And as for me...well now I'm a successful Barefoot Ambassador and The Barefoot Storyteller. It is true that a book can change your life...especially when it's a Barefoot Book!
