22 Jun 2009The Tear Thief is written by our very own Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy here in the UK and illustrated by the wonderful Nicoletta Ceccoli. It tells the story of what happens to childrens tears when they are collected by the Tear Thief and what she does with them. The story is enhanced by the illustrations which are hauntingly beautiful and I would recommend this to anyone who loves unusual stories and who appreciates stunning artwork. I defy anyone not to love this book!
Bear on a Bike
The first Barefoot Book that I ever bought!
22 Jun 2009I came across this wonderful book when my daughter was just a baby and it has been a firm family favourite ever since. In fact I believe that we can read it forwards, backwards, upside down and in the dark as it has been the book of choice at bedtime for about 8 years now and it is still loved. We loved guessing where Bear was going to go next and we had lots of fun looking for pots of marigold in the market. It is written in rhyme which tells the story of Bear's travels around a magical world and ending with bedtime!
