Great book for little Boys
24 Jun 2009The Journey Home From Grandpa's was a perfect addition to our library. We visit our Grandpa several times a year by driving 6 hours south. So when I saw this I knew it would be a good read that my kids could relate to. The different modes of transportation were really exciting for my young son to read about. It also incorporates colors into the reading which is a great way for a toddler to learn them. The book was also a good read for my 6 year old daughter who really related to the driving aspect of the book. The writing was perfect for her reading level (a new reader) and she enjoyed the book as much as my almost 2 year old.
The Adventures of Odysseus
My 4th grader loved The Adventures of Odysseus
24 Jun 2009At the end of the school year, my daughter's class did a unit on Odysseus. She talked so much about it and really enjoyed it, so I thought I'd purchase The Adventures of Odysseus. We both fell in love the minute we opened it. The illustrations are so colorful and really stand out. The story is told in an easy format which enabled us to read it together a little at a time every day. When we finished it, she was so in love with it, she asked if I would order the entire collection. This is a high quality books in writing and illustrations. I highly recommend it. It makes the story of Odysseus easy to follow and it is very engaging for young kids.
The Dewey Tree Fundraiser
03 Dec 2009Dewey was a book lover and blogger who passed away during the holidays last year. In her honor, we are doing a fundraiser and donating 10% of all sales for this month in books to the Arapahoe County Libraries.
