My Daddy is a Pretzel
You, too, can be a Yogi
Jun-30-2009My daughter Abigail is now a Yogi thanks to “My Daddy is a Pretzel” by Baron Baptiste. This book introduces a range of yoga positions while connecting them to occupations. For example, one page says, “My mommy is a veterinarian. Sometimes my daddy is a dog.” The next page then includes a picture of Downward Dog, a famous yoga pose, as well as a series of pictures displaying how to get into the pose. Perfect for the yogi in your life!
The Beeman
Save the bees, please!
Jun-30-2009My daughter Abigail cannot get enough of The Beeman by Laurie Krebs. The story is told from the viewpoint of a child whose Grandpa is a beekeeper. As the flowers in our garden bloom and we see the return of bees, Abigail now has a better understanding of these precious insects and their important role in our ecosystem. There’s a delicious muffin recipe in the back that’s just begging for a spoonful (or two) of honey!
