The Boy Who Grew Flowers

I picked this up without having any idea what to expect. I was blown away and it could be my favorite Barefoot Book. A heartwarming that will melt you. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is so well told that you could actually believe a boy can 'sprout' flowers. My children love it and it opens the door to talking about differences and accepting others. Can even remind adults to not judge so quickly and to take a second look at someone who might need some compassion.

Just enough "scary"

I love this book and my 3 and 5 year old boys love the Monsters. The stories are well written and it is so great to learn about monsters from other countries. There is enough excitement and scariness to the stories without being overwhelming. They all have a 'soft landing' and a lesson to learn. The monsters can even become endearing.
