I gave this 3 stars because my daughter likes this book so much, but I am not crazy about it. Compared to other Barefoot Books that are similar I don't like the illustrations as much and find the stories hard to get through. My 8 yr old really likes it though. It has a different feel to it, in my opinion, than some other Barefoot Books and the illustrations are different type of style.
I gave this to my 8 year old daughter for Christmas and both her and I are loving it. I love Barefoot's versions of these traditional stories. And the illustrations are beautiful. Each of the stories are pretty long so might be a bit much for younger ones. It also has a beautiful ribbon book mark attached. My daughter loves that feature, she can mark the story she wants to read that night. It also comes in handy if you can't get through the whole story in one sitting. The book has several stories in it.
I got the 4 books in this series last week and my 7 yr old daughter fell in love with all 4 and spent the whole weekend reading them. I was surprised by this because I thought she wouldn't be very interested since they weren't girly with the monster themes. But they so well done and fun to read. The illustrations are incredible and the stories are super cute. I highly recommend the whole series.

I love Barefoot products but this matching game is too hard, especially for the age range listed. It is hard for me and my 7 year old to do. There are too many cards and they look so similar plus you aren't matching exact picture to exact picture but rather boy to girl from same country. It is a well made game and the pictures on the cards are beautiful but it is now well suited as a matching game in my opinion.
This is a really fun puzzle especially when used with the book. You can also build with it, since it is made of blocks. I do think the ages listed would need assistance to do the puzzle since you have to have all the blocks turned the right way to complete the puzzle. This can be hard for little ones to figure out on their own. But lots of fun when and adult or older child helps out.
Great original story and as always with Barefoot fabulous illustrations. My daughter chooses this one over and over again. I have to admit I am almost sick of reading it to her. She just turned 8 yrs old.
Me and my kids love the sing a long CD books. They are so fun and playful. I have gotten all 3 of these books a different times and they are some of my favorites making this gift set a great choice for a great price. Animal Boogie is my favorite of the singalongs and the other two included in this gift set are close seconds.
This is the favorite of me and my kids. Both my 9 yr & 4 yr old enjoy this book. It is a great story with wonderful illustrations. There is something really special about this story and how it is told. It is not too long and not too short.
