One Moose, Twenty Mice

Broadening Children's Horizons
Jun-25-2009

Barefoot Books offer so many opportunities for children to expand their knowledge base and this cute little book is no different. Where most young children’s books only count to ten, “One Moose, Twenty Mice” counts all the way up to twenty. Add in the adventure of looking for the little orange cat on each page and the stunning craftsmanship of the pictures and my adoration for this book is immense.

Skip through the Seasons

An incredible value.
Jun-23-2009

This book is so much more than the title would suggest. Of course it teaches your children about the four seasons, but it is also a lovely rhythmic tale about the months of the year. Along the bottom of each page there are twelve objects that children can search for in the beautiful illustrations. This book can be a quick "just one more book" bedtime read or an endless source of entertainment waiting for a doctor's appointment. If that wasn't enough, there are five pages of educational end-notes that detail the origins of the names of the months, changing of the seasons, calendars from different cultures through the ages, and days of the week in six languages. How much more could you possibly include in one lightweight paperback book for only $7.99?
