Arthur of Albion

Classic Tales Retold
Jun-4-2010

This book was hard to put down it is so well written and beautifully illustrated. The beauty of the book is that it is appealing to the adult reader and is an excellent choice for read-to-me time for older elementary school children. I found especially engaging the fact that modern writers have borrowed heavily from the Arthurian Tales and it was fun coming up with which books/movies have benefited from ancient lore. I highly recommend this book and expect that it will be a family heirloom that is passed down to grandchildren.

The Parrot Tico Tango

Very engaging book
Apr-18-2010

I read this book to a group of children, two of whom were quite unruly. The first four pages were a bit rough with the bouncers bouncing around and doing other things. By the time I turned the page for the 3rd time, all the kids were hooked! We all got through to the end of the book and everyone was ready to read it again. I loved the way the author used synonyms when Tico Tango took the fruits from his friends...took, seized, swiped, stole, etc.
